The Christmas Tree

Luke 2:14
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I hope when you look at your Christmas tree this year, you see it for more than just a tree.  I hope you can see all the symbols within it that help to point us right back to Jesus everytime!!

1. Evergreen tree - represents Everlasting life
   
2. Lights - represents Jesus, the Light of the World
   
3. Tree Itself - represents the Trinity, Father, Son and the Holy Ghost
4. Star on Top - represents the North star that led the Wisemen to Jesus
5. Gifts Underneath - represents the 3 gifts brought before Jesus, gold, frankincense and myrh

I love that in all of creation we can look at what the Lord has created and turn it around and give Him our praise.  Psalm 96:12-13, says, Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!  Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for He is coming!


Isaiah 55:12  You will live in joy and peace.  The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!


Galatians 3:13-14  But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law.  When He was hung on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing.  For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."  Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing He promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.


When you look upon the tree, see the real meaning behind it!!!  Jesus came so that we could live.  He hung on a tree for you and for me!! Thank you Jesus!!-- Krista
